Mold Remediation in Bruce Township, MI

Challenge

This was a significant mold remediation project with several challenging factors. The client had been absent from his house for a month or two. Upon returning home, he discovered a broken pipe in the second-floor bathroom, affecting the entire house. The prolonged vacancy led to substantial water damage and the development of mold, resulting in a considerably larger project.

Prior to any structural remediation, it is essential to address and remove all personal belongings from the house. Due to the HVAC system's inoperability caused by water damage in late winter, we took immediate action to introduce heat into the house. Additionally, we promptly set up equipment to stabilize the environment as much as possible.

The client and his family were required to vacate the house during every phase of the project. Our top priority was to swiftly facilitate the client's return to the house, a goal that we successfully achieved.

Solution

Temporary heating was installed in the house to create suitable conditions for the remediation process. All belongings and personal items were meticulously inventoried and inspected to determine their salvageability. Items deemed restorable were expertly packed, cleaned, and safely stored until the house was rebuilt. Non-restorable items were digitally inventoried, meticulously documented, and promptly disposed of.

Remediation confidently commenced with the meticulous removal of building materials, utilizing containment and air scrubbers as necessary after clearing the contents from the house. Following the thorough removal of building materials, the entire house was assertively HEPA vacuumed and wiped to eradicate all mold spores. A comprehensive third-party post-remediation testing was conducted to validate the success of the remediation, and it conclusively passed the initial set of tests.
